Inaka de Hajimeru Kyūkatsu Slow Life Manga Launches
Akita Publishing has added a new healing-style series to its digital lineup. The official X (formerly Twitter) account for Champion Buzz announced that a new manga adaptation by Kabuo, based on Renkinō’s web novel Chotto Shigoto Yamete Jikka ni Kaeru ~Inaka de Hajimeru Kyūkatsu Slow Life, officially launched on the platform last Thursday under the shortened title Inaka de Hajimeru Kyūkatsu Slow Life.
The story follows Tadahiro Yasukuni, a salaryman worn down by the harsh reality of his toxic workplace in the city. Four years into the job, a call from his mother changes everything, prompting him to quit his job and return to his rural hometown. There, Tadahiro begins a gentle, restorative slow life, focusing on healing, self-care, and rediscovering the simple joys of living in the countryside.

The original web novel was first published by Renkinō on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform in November 2018, where it gained popularity among fans of slow-life and countryside fantasy stories.
Renkinō is no stranger to manga adaptations. Other works by the author have also received manga versions, including Monster Eater (Mamono Kurai no Bōkensha), which launched its manga adaptation in 2024. These projects have helped establish Renkinō as a familiar name in the slow-life and fantasy novel scene.
With its calm tone and comforting premise, Inaka de Hajimeru Kyūkatsu Slow Life looks set to appeal to readers who enjoy relaxed, slice-of-life stories about starting over and finding peace away from city life.
