Shikkoku no Bojō Manga Adaptation Launches in Young Ace
Kadokawa’s March issue of Young Ace magazine revealed that Kei Natsumi will launch the Shikkoku no Bojō manga adaptation in the magazine’s next issue on March 4. The series adapts Rokakoen’s horror novel Shikkoku no Bojō (Pitch Black Affection).
Story Overview of Shikkoku no Bojō
The Shikkoku no Bojō manga adaptation follows cram school teacher Toshihiko Katayama. He is known for his striking appearance and is used to being the center of attention. However, his life takes a disturbing turn when a mysterious woman with long black hair begins stalking him.
Soon after, strange incidents start occurring around him. The woman harasses his students and colleagues. Moreover, unexplained paranormal phenomena begin targeting Toshihiko directly. As the situation escalates, he decides to seek help. Therefore, he visits a paranormal investigation company owned by his old school friend, Rumi Sasaki.
The story blends psychological horror with suspense, creating a tense atmosphere that builds gradually.

Original Novel Background
Rokakoen first launched the novel on the Kakuyomu website in January 2022. Shortly afterward, Kadokawa published the print edition in February of the same year. Now, the Shikkoku no Bojō manga adaptation brings the eerie story to a wider manga audience.
Kei Natsumi’s Previous Works
Kei Natsumi is also known for work within the Higurashi franchise. Most recently, Natsumi concluded Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei: Iro Tōtoshi-hen with its fourth compiled volume in February 2025. The manga launched on Square Enix’s Gangan Online in June 2023.
Additionally, Natsumi worked on Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei: Oni Okoshi-hen, while Seigo Tokiya handled Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei: Hoshi Watashi-hen. Both series concluded in 2022, with their final volumes released in November.
