Jyanai Hō no Seijo to Yūsha Gets Manga Adaptation
A new isekai story is making the jump to manga. The latest issue of Weekly Shōnen Champion has revealed that Yui Hanaka’s web novel Jyanai Hō no Seijo to Yūsha ~Are, Watashitachi de Hontō ni “Jyanai hō?”~ will receive a manga adaptation illustrated by Nini Senbonki. The series will debut digitally in Champion Buzz’s 29th issue on February 5.
The story follows high school students Hana Isshiki and Kotarou Okumura, who are suddenly transported to a fantasy world after being caught up in a summoning ritual. There’s just one problem—they’re neither the chosen saint nor the destined hero. With no way to return home, the two are forced to survive in an unfamiliar world, where they slowly awaken mysterious abilities of their own. As their powers grow, they begin to question whether they truly are the so-called “not” saint and hero after all.

Hanaka originally launched the web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform in December 2022, where it gained attention for its twist on classic saint-and-hero isekai tropes.
The author is also known for BL Game Rebirth: My New Life as the Hero’s Younger Brother, another popular web novel that concluded with its second volume in March 2024. That series later received a manga adaptation and has been published internationally, helping establish Hanaka as a versatile writer across genres.
With its manga debut just around the corner, Jyanai Hō no Seijo to Yūsha is shaping up to be a fresh take on the isekai genre—one that asks what happens when the “wrong” people are summoned into a fantasy world.
