Poupelle of Chimney Town Sequel Film Gets Complete Guide Video Ahead of Berlin Premiere
TOHO began streaming a “complete guide” video for the Poupelle of Chimney Town anime film series. The video recaps the first movie, outlines the premise of its sequel, and introduces characters alongside their voice cast.
The upcoming sequel, Entotsu-chō no Poupelle ~Yakusoku no Tokeidai~ (The Promised Clock Tower), will hold its world premiere at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival in the Generation Kplus category, which highlights films aimed at younger audiences. The festival runs from February 12–22, with the movie scheduled to open in Japan on March 27.
In the new film, Yuzuna Nagase voices Lubicchi, replacing Mana Ashida from the first movie, while Masataka Kubota returns as Poupelle.
Additional cast includes MEGUMI as Mofu, Fūka Koshiba as Nagi, Mitsuo Yoshihara as Gus, Anna Tsuchiya as Nezumi, along with returning performers Shingo Fujimori and Sairi Itō. Other featured voices include Kōichi Yamadera, Kōji Higashino, the comedy duo Nishikigoi, and Showtaro Morikubo.
Creator Akihiro Nishino is again supervising production and writing the script, with director Yūsuke Hirota returning at Studio 4°C. The theme song “Entotsu-chō no Poupelle” is performed by Lozareena.

The sequel adapts Nishino’s 2019 picture book Tick-Tock ~Yakusoku no Tokeidai~ and centers on a town where a clock tower has been stuck at 11:59. The story explores conflict between residents who want to preserve the tower and those hoping to repair it, presenting a thematic contrast to the first film’s message.
