Villion:Code School RPG Revealed for June 25 Release
Japanese developer Compile Heart has officially unveiled its upcoming school-themed RPG Villion:Code, alongside a new website and gameplay trailer confirming a June 25 release. The game is set to arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2.
Set in a near-future world on the brink of collapse, the story takes place inside the “Advan Resilience Research Academy City,” a facility created to uncover a solution to humanity’s impending destruction. The situation spirals when a mysterious anomaly appears, unleashing hostile entities known as GEM and surrounding the city with a barrier that cuts off all outside contact. Isolated within the academy, students must face their roles and unravel the truth behind the phenomenon.
Music plays a key role in the experience, with FRAM performing both the opening theme “Rebirth Code” and the ending theme “Echoes of Tomorrow.”

The project brings together several notable industry names. Kōji Okada, co-creator of the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series, serves as planning producer. Scenario writing is handled by Tadashi Satomi, known for early Persona titles and The Caligula Effect, while veteran composer Tsukasa Masuko leads the sound direction. Character design is provided by illustrator Ilya Kuvshinov.
The official tagline describes the game as “Kōji Okada’s ultimate message to the next generation,” hinting at a narrative-heavy RPG blending school life, sci-fi mystery, and character-driven storytelling.
