The dark journey of Shintarō Jagasaki has reached its final chapter in the world of graphic novels. Specifically, the supernatural horror manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Akeji Nishida has officially concluded its run. The story follows a disillusioned police officer whose life changes abruptly when a grotesque creature grants him the ability to fire shots from his hand. Consequently, the complete narrative now spans a total of 14 collected volumes.

From Monotony to Bizarre Transformation

The protagonist, Jagasaki, originally felt trapped by the routine of his uneventful personal life and job. Initially, he lived a conventional life with his girlfriend before a bizarre transformation triggered on a train changed everything. Furthermore, this transformation allowed him to battle the supernatural threats that emerged in his world. This unique premise helped the supernatural horror manga stand out during its serialization in Weekly Big Comic Spirits.

The Legacy of Muneyuki Kaneshiro

The creator behind the series, Muneyuki Kaneshiro, is widely recognized for his work on global hits like Blue Lock. In addition, he has collaborated on other famous titles such as As the Gods Will and Super Ball Girls. Therefore, fans of his intense storytelling style have closely followed this project since it began in February 2017. The involvement of illustrator Akeji Nishida, known for the I Am a Hero in Nagasaki spinoff, also added significant prestige to the production.

Availability and Final Release

The series concluded its magazine serialization in November 2021, and all 14 volumes are now available for readers. Currently, while Kaneshiro’s other works like Blue Lock receive English releases through Kodansha and K MANGA, this specific title remains a highlight of his darker portfolio. Meanwhile, the 14-volume collection offers a complete and intense experience for fans of the genre.
