Ryō Yasohachi Launches New Manga “Satō Eiko (32) wa Hero ni Nareta no ka”
Kadokawa’s Harta magazine announced that manga artist Ryō Yasohachi has launched a new series titled Satō Eiko (32) wa Hero ni Nareta no ka in the online magazine Harta Alternative on Monday.
The story follows Eiko Satō, a 32-year-old woman whose first love was killed by monsters that emerged from another world. Driven by grief and anger, Eiko now risks her life seeking revenge, questioning whether she can become the hero she once needed.
Yasohachi is best known for the manga Immortal Hounds, which ran in Harta from 2013 until its conclusion in November 2020. Kadokawa released the seventh and final volume in December 2020, while the series also received licensing and English releases overseas. The creator later expanded the world with the side story Immortal Ridge and worked on the series formerly titled Mujina wa Akago ni Kanawanai, later renamed Onore Ningen-domo, which ended in 2024.
The new series marks Yasohachi’s latest action-driven work centered on revenge, fantasy, and adult protagonists.
