High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku Manga Gets Live-Action Film Adaptation for Fall 2026
Toei Company announced that Ryō Nakama’s manga High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku will receive a live-action film adaptation scheduled for fall 2026.
Published digitally in English by Viz Media and MANGA Plus, the comedy story follows first-year high schooler Kōtarō, whose dreams of a fresh school life are turned upside down when his entire family enrolls at the same school. The series blends family comedy with school gags, creating a distinctive slice-of-life humor style.

The film’s cast includes Riisa Naka as mother Shizuka, Shingo Katori as father Ichiro, Jun Saitō as eldest son Kōtarō, and Yuno Nagao as younger sister Haruka.

Director Tôichirô Rutô is helming the project, with a screenplay by Makoto Ueda of Europe Kikaku.

Nakama originally launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2020, concluding the series in February 2023. Publisher Shueisha released the 11th and final compiled volume in July 2023. Nakama is also known for Isobe Isobee Monogatari ~Ukiyo wa Tsurai yo~, which ran from 2013 to 2017 and inspired net anime projects and a stage play.
