Based on the fantasy novels written by Touya with illustrations by chibi, the story follows Fia, a knight-in-training who recalls her past life as a powerful Saint after a near-fatal encounter with a dragon. The series blends reincarnation themes, action, and character drama, and has built a strong fanbase through its light novel and manga adaptations.
The anime stars Shion Wakayama as Fia Ruud alongside a cast that includes Nobunaga Shimazaki and Tomokazu Sugita. Production is being handled by Felix Film, with direction by Tomoe Makino and series composition by Deko Akao. Music for the project is composed by Kenichiro Suehiro, known for his work on major fantasy anime titles.
The original novels debuted online in 2019 before moving to print, where they quickly gained popularity. English publisher Seven Seas Entertainment currently releases both the light novels and the manga adaptation, helping expand the franchise’s global reach. The series has surpassed 3.5 million copies in circulation.
With the delay, fans will now have to wait until the Fall anime season to see Fia’s story on screen, but the production team says the extra time will help refine the animation and storytelling ahead of its broadcast.
