A Side Character’s Love Story Live-Action Film Opens June 5
The staff for the A Side Character’s Love Story live-action film announced on Thursday that the movie will open in Japan on June 5. Alongside the announcement, the team released a new teaser trailer and unveiled the film’s main visual.
The movie adapts Akane Tamura’s romantic manga Mobuko no Koi, a heartfelt story about an introverted woman experiencing love for the first time.
Story Overview of Mobuko no Koi
The A Side Character’s Love Story live-action film follows Nobuko Tanaka, a woman who has always considered herself a background character in life. However, everything changes when she falls in love in her 20s.
Although Nobuko struggles with assertiveness, she gradually gathers the courage to close the distance between herself and her crush. As a result, the story delivers a refreshing romance that focuses on quiet determination rather than dramatic gestures.
Both Comikey and Azuki publish the manga digitally in English. Meanwhile, Coamix describes the series as a modest and uplifting love story for readers tired of traditional romantic leads.
