No Sleep For Kaname Date Reveals New System Trailer Ahead of Western Release
Spike Chunsoft has released a new system trailer for No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files, the latest installment in Kōtarō Uchikoshi’s mind-bending AI: The Somnium Files franchise.

The game is scheduled to launch in North America and Europe on February 26 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Physical and digital editions will be available on PlayStation 5, while PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X|S versions will be digital-only. The title previously launched in Japan on July 25 for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
Staying true to the series’ signature structure, the story once again follows detective Kaname Date, who uses his artificial left eye to dive into the subconscious worlds of others. This time, Date is tasked with tracking down internet idol Iris, who has been trapped inside a mysterious escape game. A new gameplay feature introduces dedicated “Escape” sections, where players must solve logic puzzles to break out of locked rooms, alongside the familiar Investigation and Somnium segments.
Kazuya Yamada serves as both director and scenario writer for the project, with Uchikoshi returning as series director and scenario supervisor. Character designs are handled by Yūsuke Kozaki, music is composed by Keisuke Ito, and Yasu Iizuka is credited as producer.
The AI: The Somnium Files series began in 2019 with its debut title on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, earning praise for its unconventional storytelling and dream-based investigation mechanics. Its sequel, AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative, followed in 2022 and expanded the franchise’s complex narrative universe.
