TSUKUYOMI Switch RPG by Kazuma Kaneko Launches April 23
Japanese developer Colopl has announced TSUKUYOMI, a new deck-building RPG for Nintendo Switch designed by legendary character artist Kazuma Kaneko. The title launches on April 23 as an offline evolution of TSUKUYOMI – The Divine Hunters, which will shut down service one day earlier on April 22.
Players migrating from the original version will be able to transfer three random cards from their favorites list into the Switch release. The new edition introduces an additional character, expanded story content, reworked UI, gameplay balance adjustments, and brand-new card illustrations by Kaneko. Unlike the mobile and PC version — which experimented with generative AI trained on Kaneko’s artwork to create new cards — the Switch version will not use generative AI for card creation.
The story centers on four Jinma Hunters exploring a demon-infested skyscraper called “The Hashira,” with each hunter offering a distinct playstyle and strategy approach. The original game launched for mobile and PC via Steam in May 2025 after first being teased as “Project Mask,” a concept focused on the idea of creating a “god.”

Kaneko, known for shaping the visual identity of the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona franchises during his long tenure at Atlus, joined Colopl after leaving the studio in 2023. His involvement positions TSUKUYOMI as a closely watched project among fans of dark fantasy RPGs.
