Get ready, horse fans! šāØ Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Beginning of a New Era (Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Shinjidai no Tobira) is galloping into North America on February 27. GAGA Corporation also unveiled the key visual and an English-subtitled trailer.
The story follows the free-spirited Umamusume Jungle Pocketāaka Pokke. Overwhelmed by Fuji Kisekiās dazzling performance at a Twinkle Series race, Pokke sets her sights on conquering the Twinkle Series herself.
Upon joining Tracen Academy, Pokke is mentored by veteran trainer Tanabe, who once guided Fuji Kiseki. Their goal? To dominate the Triple Crown series! But the competition is fierce, with standout rivals like:
- Dantsu Flame, whose determination to win is unmatched š„
- Manhattan Cafe, chasing the shadowy figure of a āfriendā only she can see šāāļø
- Agnes Tachyon, a mad-scientist-like genius pushing the limits of what an Umamusume can achieve š§Ŗ

The film premiered in Japan in May 2024, selling 226,600 tickets in the first three days and earning 354 million yen (~US$2.25 million), ranking #2 in its opening weekend. Total Japanese box office earnings surpassed 1.4 billion yen (~US$8.7 million).
Directed by Ken Yamamoto (PokƩmon: Hisuian Snow), scripted by Kiyoko Yoshimura (Cardfight!! Vanguard G), with Jun Yamazaki (Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Road to the Top) handling character design and chief animation direction, the film is distributed by TOHO.
The franchise spans three TV seasons, the Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Road to the Top net anime, the Umayon spinoff, and most recently, the two-cour Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray TV anime in 2025. The mobile/PC game has been available since 2021.
