Returning cast members include Reiji Kawashima as Fushi and Kenjirō Tsuda as The Observer. Tomori Kusunoki reprises her role in a new capacity as Mizuha, while Megumi Han returns as Yūki Aoki. New addition Yumiri Hanamori joins the season as the mysterious boy Satoru. Several additional supporting characters also appear throughout the arc.
The new season marks Sōta Yokote’s directorial debut, working with studios Drive and STUDIO MASSKET. Previous season director Kiyoko Sayama serves as chief director. Core staff members Shinzō Fujita (series composition), Koji Yabuno (character design), Ryo Kawasaki (music), and Takeshi Takadera (sound direction) return.

The opening theme song, “Fumetsu no Anata,” is performed by Perfume.
Originally launched in 2016, the manga concluded in June 2025 after three major story arcs. Season 3 continues adapting the later storyline, focusing on the modern-day setting and the escalating conflict that pushes Fushi and his companions toward the arc’s conclusion.
