SZA’s “Snooze” Announced as Opening Theme for Gundam Hathaway Movie Part 2
A surprising and exciting music collaboration has been revealed for the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway film series. American R&B artist SZA’s hit 2022 song “Snooze” will serve as the opening theme for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, the second movie in the Gundam Hathaway anime film trilogy.
The announcement was made through a newly released special trailer, quickly drawing attention from both Gundam fans and music lovers worldwide.
The film has officially been delayed and is now scheduled to premiere in Japan on January 30, screening in 365 theaters nationwide. While the movie is confirmed for a Japanese theatrical release, its North American release date has not yet been announced.
The story continues Hathaway Noa’s emotional and ideological struggle as he balances his unresolved feelings for Gigi with his dangerous mission as part of MAFTY. At the same time, Kenneth prepares for MAFTY’s suppression, while Gigi’s presence begins to reshape the fate of both men. The film promises a dramatic blend of political tension, large-scale space battles, and emotional depth.

Several new cast members are joining the project, while the main cast and most of the core staff return from the first film. Notable staff updates include the addition of Yuichi Kuboki as a color key artist and Yoshihisa Ōyama as director of photography, with enhanced visual effects direction.
In addition to the opening theme, SennaRin will perform the insert song “ENDROLL”, featuring collaboration with Yōhei Kawakami of Alexandros.
The Gundam Hathaway project is planned as a three-part film series, with the second installment set to feature notable differences from the original novel storyline. The first film, released in 2021, became a major box office success and marked a historic milestone for the Gundam franchise.
