Compile Heart Teases New “School RPG” With Veteran Persona & SMT Creators on Board
Game developer Compile Heart opened a brand-new teaser website on Thursday, hinting at an upcoming “school RPG” project. While concrete details are still under wraps, the company confirmed that a full reveal is scheduled for January 29, already sparking curiosity among RPG fans.
What makes the teaser especially eye-catching is the all-star creative lineup behind the project.
The game’s planning producer is Kōji Okada, co-founder of Atlus and one of the key creators behind the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona franchises. Handling the scenario is Tadashi Satomi, the writer of the first two Persona games and titles such as The Caligula Effect.
Music duties are in the hands of Tsukasa Masuko, a longtime composer for early Shin Megami Tensei entries and later works including Monark, Varlet, and The Caligula Effect. Character designs are being crafted by Ilya Kuvshinov, known for his distinctive style in Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, The Wonderland, and Death Stranding: Isolations.
The teaser website features a striking tagline that reads:
“Kōji Okada’s ultimate message to the next generation.”
While the genre label “school RPG” immediately brings Persona comparisons to mind, Compile Heart has yet to clarify how closely the game will resemble existing series—or how boldly it plans to redefine the concept.
More information, including gameplay details and platforms, will be revealed on January 29.
