Code Vein II Raises the Stakes with a Sinister New Boss Reveal
Bandai Namco has shared a new trailer for Code Vein II, offering players a first look at a formidable new enemy: The Blinded Resurgence Offspring. The footage focuses on the boss encounter, giving a taste of the darker and more aggressive direction the sequel is taking.
Visually disturbing and mechanically intimidating, the boss showcases erratic movement patterns and punishing attacks that suggest a heavy emphasis on timing and adaptability. Rather than relying on spectacle alone, the encounter appears designed to test players’ mastery of combat systems introduced in the original game.
With each new reveal, Code Vein II continues to build on its post-apocalyptic world, leaning further into its grim atmosphere and challenging gameplay. The latest trailer makes it clear that boss battles will play a central role in defining the sequel’s identity.

Bandai Namco has confirmed that CODE VEIN II will officially launch on January 30, with the Japanese release scheduled one day earlier on January 29. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Ahead of release, players will be able to try out a character creation demo. The demo launches on January 22 for PC (Steam), followed by January 23 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, allowing fans to experiment with customization before the full game arrives.
A Dark Future Bound by Blood and Fate
Set in a bleak future where humanity and Revenants are nearing extinction, CODE VEIN II tells a story shaped by destiny, memory, and sacrifice. A mysterious phenomenon known as Luna Rapacis drives Revenants into insanity, turning them into monstrous beings called Horrors.
Players take on the role of a Revenant Hunter, guided by a mysterious girl named Lou, who possesses the ability to travel into the past. By revisiting critical moments in history, players can alter the fates of key Revenants, uncover hidden truths, and influence the survival of the future itself.
Gameplay and Combat Systems
Combat once again centers on absorbing blood from enemies to unlock powerful abilities. Players can customize their fighting style through Blood Codes, wield specialized weapons and gear known as Jails, and form bonds with Partner allies, each offering unique combat skills and story-driven relationships.
Series Background
The original CODE VEIN launched in September 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC after being delayed from its initial 2018 release window. The game’s opening cinematic was animated by ufotable, with VAMPS performing the theme song “Underworld.”
The franchise has also expanded beyond games, including the manga adaptation CODE VEIN: Memory Echoes, created by Kotoni Shiroishi, which was serialized in Dengeki PlayStation magazine.
